The game isn't meant to be difficult, the way I see it. It's meant to be a good laugh, destroying everything as a giant worm. It's not meant to challenge the player, it's meant to be simple, easy fun. And the upgrades also reflect that - Why would I just want to increase speed/health every time, when I can get frikkin' blood claws, spikes and vacuums - it's all about ridiculous fun.

I think this one was far more fun than the first, a great improvement. Also, the upgrades made visible differences, so I could SEE my worm becoming better and more powerful. The controls seemed fine to me too, with the unwieldiness of them towards the end being not only reasonable, but expected and executed well. I enjoyed this game from start to finish, and will likely play again to choose an alternate evolutionary path.

5/5 Stars

Awesome

Truly brilliant, it's like playing out an epic action movie most of the time. Me and my mate had loads of fun before he got bored of losing (;P) so I went on to the stage mode.

Really difficult, but always in a fun way. The last level was a beast, but I was enjoying myself throughout, and to difficulty only made a win that much sweeter.

I would have liked to have seen more maps/weapons, but what was there was great as is, but only four maps was a little disappointing. Online multiplayer would have made this perfect, but I realise how difficult/expensive that could be, so I won't complain about that. Though it's no fault of yours, keyboard sharing can get a bit awkward, especially on a laptop. But it was fun regardless.

In conclusion, an amazing game that I feel certain I'll be coming back to, congrats on making such a masterpiece! If online multiplayer was included along with a couple of extra maps, this would be perfect.

Graphics - 09/10 --- Nothing special, but fits the game so well, and I do really love this style.

Sounds - 09/10 --- The music never seems to get repetitive at all, as it is subtle enough not to, but still adds to the game. Also, the guns sounded like guns. That's a plus.

Gameplay - 10/10 --- The difficulty makes a win feel amazing, and the action is consistently movie-like.

Overall - 9/10 --- An online mode and a couple of extra maps would have pushed this to a 10, but as it is now, I'd give it a 9 and settle for saying it's one of the best online games I've played in a long time. Thanks.

Thanks very much :)

I AM.

That really was amazing, I loved the presentation and the puzzles, while not overly difficult, were all interesting. And to Moschinius, obviously you didn't like the story if you didn't read the files - At least put some effort in before you say something's crap, because I loved it, read every file I discovered and found the story to be amazing.

Great work on this game, 5/5, 10/10

Better than the first!

I don't know why everyone's complaining about the difficulty. Some levels are hard, sure, but for the most part I found it fun. Challenging, not too easy, and not too hard. I loved the original back in 2005, and I love this sequel (though I will say I would have preferred if you'd kept those upgrade bubbles in, maybe in endless mode?)

Argh, my eyes!

This is epic, and I second Butcer1's comment about the effect on your eyes... It's so immersive!

Seriously though, very well done, great game at its core with no need for an intricate story or great graphics, just great gameplay.

Also, the effect on your eyes just makes it better, it's like I'm really winning.

Brilliant

I like these types of games, and at first I enjoyed it. But then I finished the first part, and got on to the second part, and I just loved it. As you can see, this is the first game I've felt the need to write a review for,'cause it's just so damn good! ;3

Graphics - 9/10 - Very simple, but fit with the games overall style well

Gameplay - 9/10 - Nice spin on the 'multiple versions of you' game, and very well executed.

Sounds - 10/10 - Fit the game amazingly well and really set the tone for the whole thing

Story - 8/10 While there's no real 'story', the messages were well written and thought provoking, especially in the second part.

Overall - 9/10 - The first game on Newgrounds I've felt the need to review, and with good reason. A brilliant game all round.

Almost Perfect

I really loved this game - One of the better MetroidVania games out there, vecause I loved the premise and the cryptic nature of the game. The graphics were perfectly fitting for the style, the music was unbelievably good and worked amazingly well in all the right places, kudos to Ockeroid. The story was nicely done, left open to interpretation as to what happened I guess, and really made me think.

My only real problem with the game - and I know I'm being picky here - But the sound made when you collected a letter was very irritating. In any other game, it would have worked well, but it detracted from the peace/tranquility/mystery of this game I think, and that's really the only reason this is getting a 9 and not a 10.

In conclusion, everything fit together perfectly and I found no problems or bugs, the game was a good length and gave you a good feeling of progression. If only I wasn't taken out of the experience so much by the sound, this would be a perfect 10.

Furry, brony, gay, love my partner, enjoy playing games and making crappy music! ^^
